How the band got together....
Drummer Dave "Slats" and Steve "Freebie", along with "Madman" Mark met at a music shop. An odd
collection of old has been musicians that wanted to revive, or relive, or jumpstart a career. Weekend Warriors we were called.
Rehearsals, coaching and an eventual live show on stage had us hooked. We could do this. Over the next couple years we tried
different things, met more people including Scott. Open mics, a couple Grumpy Old Men, all led to the formation of the BLOOZE
HOWNZ!
All things happen for a reason. I believe that.
How would you best describe The Blooze Hownz?
We play an eclectic mixture of old blues, blues standards, folk, even some classic rock tunes. We play the songs others don't
or won't. We try to maintain our integrity by playing songs that mean something to us. Also, we play some original songs.
Our originals take many different forms and cover many topics, some more insane than others. All told, we have a really great
time letting it all out. Come join us!!
Why did ya'll choose the blues?
The most unique American music is the blues. A blend of rhythms from all over the world to be true, but with a very unique
addition of the American people. Thats one of many reasons why we play the blues. Everyone can identify with pain, sorrow,
and bad luck. Its the way of life, of the world. The blues are a kind of therapy, medicine if you will.
A way to face and cure, if only for a short time, the worries of mankind. Deep!
